Getting Started

How does Rythm work?

Rythm helps you understand your health through regular at-home blood testing, personalized insights, and ongoing guidance. Each month, you’ll receive a test kit, collect your sample at home, return it to the lab, and review your results in the Rythm app. Over time, your results can help you see trends in key biomarkers and better understand how factors like nutrition, exercise, sleep, stress, illness, and recovery may affect your health.

Why monthly?

Most lab testing offers a single snapshot in time. Rythm is designed to help you see the bigger picture by tracking your biomarkers consistently over time.

Monthly testing makes it easier to recognize meaningful trends and understand how your lifestyle may be affecting your results. Changes in training, nutrition, sleep, stress, alcohol use, illness, medication, menstrual cycle, and recovery can all influence biomarkers. With more frequent testing, you can see what may be moving your markers in a positive direction and where you may want to make adjustments.

Your results are personal to you. The goal is not to chase one “perfect” number, but to better understand your individual baseline, monitor change over time, and build habits that support your long-term wellness.

If you would prefer a different cadence you can all find your own Rythm by skipping for up to 90 days.

Where is Rythm available?

Rythm is currently available throughout the United States, including all 50 states. To use Rythm, you’ll need to have a U.S. shipping address where FedEx can deliver your kit and collect or accept your completed sample for return.

At this time, Rythm is only available in the United States and does not ship internationally.

What’s included in a Rythm membership?

Your Rythm membership includes a monthly at-home testing kit, lab analysis of your sample, access to your results through the Rythm platform, and personalized guidance from the Rythm AI Coach.

Your kit includes the materials needed to collect and return your blood sample. Once your sample has been processed, you’ll be able to view your biomarker results, track changes over time, and use your insights to better understand your health trends.

What does Rythm test for?

Rythm measures key biomarkers related to several major areas of health, including heart health, hormones, metabolic function, liver health, and kidney health.

Our panel is designed to provide a broader view of how your body is functioning, rather than focusing on one health category alone. Because biomarker results are most useful in context, Rythm also helps you follow changes over time and understand trends across your results.

You can view the complete Rythm biomarker panel at rythmhealth.com/what-we-test.

Are my results accurate?

Yes, Rythm is built on transparency, validated methods, and established science. We use FDA-cleared devices for blood collection, and CLIA-certified, CAP-accredited labs for analysis to ensure the highest standards of accuracy and reliability. As with any lab test, results can be affected by factors such as collection technique, fasting status, hydration, illness, medication, and timing. Following the instructions in your kit as closely as possible helps support an accurate sample and reliable results.

How long does it take to receive my first kit?

Your kit typically ships within 2 business days. Once shipped, delivery usually takes an additional business day, so you can expect to receive your kit within about 3 business days total.

We recommend returning your completed sample within 7 days of receiving your kit. However, your kit does not expire, so you can test whenever you’re ready.

Can I use Rythm if I already see a doctor?

Rythm is designed to complement, not replace, your relationship with your doctor. Regular testing helps you track your biomarker trends over time and better understand how lifestyle changes may affect your results. You can share your results with your provider to support more informed conversations at your appointments.

What happens after I sign up?

Your kit will arrive within 2–3 business days, and you’ll receive a notification once it ships. Complete your collection while fasted, ideally first thing in the morning, then return your sample to the lab within 7 days for the fastest results.

You can schedule a complimentary FedEx pickup by scanning the QR code on your sample bag, or drop it off at a FedEx location. We recommend returning your sample Monday through Thursday when possible to support overnight delivery to the lab, though weekend returns are okay, too. Your results will be ready within 3 business days after the lab receives your sample and will be available in your Rythm dashboard.

Testing and Results

What do I do with my results? Will my results include an explanation?

Each biomarker in your Rythm dashboard includes helpful information about what it measures, what your results may mean, and lifestyle habits that may help support healthy levels.

If you’d like more personalized guidance, you can also use your AI Coach to ask questions about your results or get recommendations tailored to your biomarkers.

Can I do this while pregnant?

Yes you can. We have pregnancy reference ranges. Tracking can be helpful during pregnancy, especially for spotting trends over time. Just a heads-up: pregnancy naturally shifts many biomarkers outside typical ranges for non‑pregnant adults, so results should be interpreted in that context.

Do you prescribe medication/treatment?

Rythm is designed to provide health insights, but it doesn’t replace medical care. We don’t diagnose, treat, or prescribe, so if you have any symptoms or concerns, we recommend following up with your primary care provider.

Will my doctor accept these results?

Yes Rythm results are CLIA certified lab results. Whether your doctor will accept Rythm test results depends on their individual discretion. Rythm results are highly accurate, processed at CLIA-certified laboratories using FDA-cleared instruments, and are suitable for sharing with your physician. However, your doctor may recommend additional testing based on your specific health needs or goals, and acceptance of outside results can vary between providers.

What does a critical value mean?

A "critical value" in your test results means that a result is flagged as critical or abnormal. If you receive such a result, it is your responsibility to take appropriate action by consulting your primary care provider or another qualified healthcare provider.

What does it mean if my sample was rejected due to hemolysis

If your sample is rejected due to hemolysis, it means the red blood cells in your sample broke down during the testing process. This is something that can happen from time to time, even in traditional labs, and is simply a natural part of how blood samples behave in certain conditions. Hemolysis can happen due to external factors like temperature or individual variability, even when collection is done correctly. It can also depend on the person.

What does it mean if my sample was rejected due to insufficient volume

If your sample is rejected due to insufficient volume, it means the lab was unable to process it as there wasn't enough usable plasma available for testing. In some cases, a sample can look complete but still yield less usable plasma than required for processing due to factors that aren't visible during collection.

What if my results are missing biomarkers?

In some cases, certain biomarkers may not be included in a report if the sample falls outside the stability window needed for accurate measurement or if there is not enough sample volume collected to run specific tests accurately. Some markers are more time-sensitive than others, and if there’s too much time between collection and when the lab processes the sample, we’re unable to ensure a reliable result.

This can happen due to factors outside your control, such as transit delays or collection challenges. To help reduce the chances of this happening, we recommend shipping your sample the same day it’s collected, ideally Monday through Thursday, and ensuring the collection tube is filled to the top.

Lab credentials, clinicians license, etc

All Rythm results are reviewed and signed off by a state licensed physician before being made available to you, ensuring accuracy and compliance with lab requirements. To verify our certifications, you can search both the CLIA and CAP databases for “Rythm Health.” When searching the CAP directory, select Nebraska as the state.

Should I test when I’m sick

Being sick can affect your results. We recommend waiting a week before doing the test to get the most accurate data.

When will I get my results?

Once your sample begins processing, your results will be available within 48 hours. You will be notified through text once your results are ready to review.

Can I test more than what’s on your panel?

We don't offer any additional testing at the moment, but an add-on option is on the roadmap and will be available in the near future.

What are personalized Insights?

Personalized insights on your dashboard refer to tailored information and recommendations you receive based on your individual health data and lab results.

  • Explanations for any biomarkers outside the optimal range, plus factors that may influence them

  • Actionable, biomarker-specific tips to help you improve or maintain your health

  • AI-powered recommendations to help you understand your results and make lifestyle changes

They're designed to help you interpret your numbers and make informed health decisions.

Is there a limit on the AI Coach?

There is no limit on the AI Coach feature as long as your subscription is active. The AI Coach is included with all subscriptions and provides unlimited personalized AI insights and coaching based on your health data, helping you interpret your biomarkers and make informed decisions about your health.

Shipping and Sample Return

How does shipping work?

Once your order is placed, your kit will be delivered to you within 96 hours. We provide an overnight priority shipping label via FedEx with every kit to ensure the most efficient return to our lab. After you collect your sample, you can drop it off at your nearest FedEx location or schedule a free FedEx pickup directly through your Rythm dashboard.

Do the tests expire?

Our tests do not expire, so you’re always welcome to test whenever works best for you. If you do need more time, you can update the lab on when you plan to collect your sample directly from your dashboard.

How to find when my next delivery is?

You can do so by logging into your dashboard, then going to Accounts, then Billing. Your next kit’s date will be labeled under “Next Bill Date“ in the middle of the page.

How do I update my shipping address?

You can do so by logging into your dashboard, then going to Account, then Profile. Under the “Contact Information” section, click the three dots on the right hand side, and make your desired changes.

How do I schedule a FedEx pickup?

Once you collect your sample, you can scan the QR code on your sample baggie. After you have filled out your sample’s collection details, you will be prompted with the option to schedule a FedEx pickup. After you have filled out the pick up form, you can add any specific details to the notes section (phone number, package location, etc). Once you have selected your 4 hour time slot, and hit confirm, you are all set!

Can I drop off my sample myself?

Yes! We encourage Rythm users to drop off their samples at a FedEx Ship Center or affiliate near them. You can reach out to our Customer Experience team to help find a location near you!

Should I keep my sample in the refrigerator?

No temperature fluctuations lead to inaccurate results, please keep your sample out of direct sunlight and stored at room temperature until it is dropped off with FedEx or picked up.

Will my sample overheat in transit?

There’s a lithium heparin anticoagulant in the tube to keep your sample stable during the shipping window. This helps maintain the integrity of your blood until it reaches the lab.

How does the sample stay stable during shipping?

Rythm's panel was deliberately selected and validated around the realities of overnight shipping: lithium heparin tubes that resist clotting in transit, biomarkers with individually validated ambient-stability windows, a rigid protective travel tube that guards against compression and leaks, priority overnight shipping, and immediate accessioning on arrival. Because Rythm owns the entire pathway from warehouse to laboratory, your sample never leaves its oversight every transition is scanned, time-stamped, and monitored.
